Story Kitchen Teams With Grow A Garden Creators to Adapt Roblox Hit for Film

Los Angeles, CA (November 5, 2025) – Story Kitchen, the powerhouse production banner known for transforming hit videogames into global film and television franchises, today announced a partnership with the creators of GROW A GARDEN to develop a feature film adaptation of the breakout Roblox phenomenon.

The GROW A GARDEN film will capture the creativity, connection, and community that made the Roblox experience a worldwide phenomenon—inviting audiences of all ages into a whimsical, emotional, and unexpectedly epic story about growth, friendship, and the magic that happens when you nurture something from the ground up.

With more than 33 billion plays and one of the most passionate fanbases on the platform, GROW A GARDEN has become a flagship Roblox experience celebrated for its cozy gameplay loop, collaborative farming, and gentle life-sim storytelling that champions kindness, imagination, and sustainability.

“GROW A GARDEN is exactly the kind of imaginative, heartfelt world we love to adapt—an uplifting story-world rooted in play, creativity, and community,” said Story Kitchen co-founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg in a joint statement.

The project is currently in early development, with Story Kitchen collaborating closely with the GROW A GARDEN creative team to craft a narrative that reflects the game’s uplifting, community-driven DNA. Creative and studio attachments will be announced in the coming months.

Producers on the film include Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson for Story Kitchen, alongside Jeremy Bolt for JB Pictures. John Gaudiosi and John Benyamine of Moonrock will serve as co-producers, together with Story Kitchen’s Elena Sandoval. The project is being produced in association with Think Influence, which represents the creators of GROW A GARDEN.

About GROW A GARDEN

GROW A GARDEN is a hit Roblox experience where players cultivate thriving gardens, trade crops, decorate worlds, and collaborate in seasonal events. Since launch, it’s become one of Roblox’s most visited and community-loved games, praised for its charm, positive message, and creativity-driven gameplay. In March 2025, GROW A GARDEN became one of the most explosive phenomena in gaming, registering a peak concurrent player count of 22.3 million in August - surpassing the all-time peak for Fortnite (15.3 million). At one point earlier this summer, the experience accounted for more than two-thirds of the ~30 million players logged into Roblox (across the platform). Such engagement levels rival those of major global TV premieres and blockbuster films—underscoring the game’s position not just as a top-tier gaming sensation, but as a multi-screen cultural event.
